"The VoIP service sector is predicted to be generating over €16 billion in global revenues by 2010".
That is the according to the financial advisory firm Grant Thornton, which believes that the growth is likely to continue over the next few years.
Customer numbers are likely to hit 250 million across the world within the next two years as the sector benefits from smaller telecoms providers merging together or being acquired by industry leaders.
Mr Joel Driver, Managing Director of Mydivert.com, confirmed the rapid growth figures and added that "total online sales at mydivert.com were currently increasing at over 15% per month".
"Despite ecomonic gloom all around us, the VoIP sector continues to expand at a breathtaking rate", Mr Driver said.
